The book by Arthur Kronfeld, the founder of the world's first Institute of Sexual Research, was first published with the stamp 'Top Secret' in a print run of only 50 copies for the use of members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1939. The author, possibly breaching doctor-patient confidentiality, accused Nazi leaders, including Hitler, of being devoted to sexual perversions. The new edition is accompanied by modern comments from Italian psychologist and historian, Professor of Psychology at the University of Rome 'La Sapienza' Luciano Mecacci, and a detailed foreword by historian, psychologist, and professor at the Central European University in Vienna, Alexander Etkind.
