The United Kingdom of Fjons has long been famous for its princesses - beautiful as if from a picture. Princes from all over the world gather here for the perfect brides for many centuries now. And it seems everything is perfect: marriages are successful, the kingdom's economy thrives thanks to tourism, everyone is happy. However, every nineteenth princess is flawed: one is too tall, another has very pale skin, the third has overly large ears... Any deviation from accepted beauty standards is a reason for exile to a special castle in the Secret Forest, as 'imperfect' princesses can scare off foreign suitors.
Gigantella Ulrik Magni Viking, a princess of the Northern Lands, finds herself among the flawed and refuses to accept such injustice and give up on her future. Both she and each of her new friends have something to dream about: entering a law school, becoming a world-famous fashion designer, winning an international programming championship, or organizing their own photo exhibition... The princesses decide - neither more nor less - to change the laws of the Kingdom of Fjons. But is it as simple as they think?
Dasha Chekalova is a writer, journalist, specializing in children-parenting topics. Her debut book, despite its fairytale form and light style, is addressed not only to young princes and princesses but also to adults. The talented artist Anna Pankratova illustrated the edition.
