In the book "Dedication and the Way of Liberation", Nucg Rangdrena describes the essence of initiations and their rituals adopted in different schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Particular attention is paid to various stages of tantric meditation.
The purpose of Nucg Rangdrev (XVII century), the Buddhist Lama of the Tibetan tradition of friend Kagyu, briefly represents the main features of the "Ripening Ways" and "Ways of Liberation" - two stages of the practice of Buddhism of Vajrayana (diamond chariots) This work was written by the heal Nucog Rangdren in the form of answers to a series of questions that one of the students asked him - Mipham Gyonpo. The questions themselves are not included in the original text. The most important steps of training, used in some traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, - in particular, Kague and Nyingma, are in detail here.
The first three chapters contain a lot of encyclopedic information regarding various rituals and converting systems. The subsequent chapters tell about the phases of meditation, the fulfillment of the mind and the attitude to arising thoughts, the delicate treatment of the teachings of the secret mantra and the right approach to understanding the void. The author repeatedly criticizes the lamas, "selling high teachings" out of selfish reasons, Rangdrena demands from Buddhist teachers a disinterested and honest approach to learning people.
