Before you is an atlas-guide to the daytime butterflies of the European North of Russia. This vast territory includes the Murmansk region, the Republic of Karelia, the Arkhangelsk region, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Republic of Komi, including the northern regions of the Vologda and Kirov regions, the Perm Krai, and the northern part of the Urals. Some of the daytime butterflies listed are true polar residents and can only be found in the tundra, but the majority of species are also widely distributed in the middle belt and even in the south of our country, so the atlas can be used not only in the north. The book is based on over 100 essays that provide detailed descriptions of 75% of the species that form the characteristic image of the region's daytime butterflies. The remaining 25% are briefly mentioned in the book, either very similar species in appearance or specimens known from random sightings. The book is illustrated with a large number of author's photographs of adult butterflies (imagos), eggs, caterpillars, pupae, and interesting moments from the life of Lepidoptera. The book is aimed at a wide range of nature lovers. In addition, it can be used as a reference guide by teachers and students of biological and geographical specialties at universities, teachers and students of secondary schools, entomologists, zoologists, ecologists, nature conservation specialists.
