The action of the novel "Dancing with Wolves" takes place during the Civil War in the United States. The lieutenant of the American army, the brave John Dunbar, finds himself in an abandoned fort, by the will of circumstances, completely loneliness. Gradually, he meets the Indians and makes friendship with them. Over time, the hero fascinates the simple, natural laws of their existence. The life of the Indians is devoid of political intrigues, they take up their weapons only in order to protect their land, their wives and children. They do not kill animals for fun, and the forest for them is a sacred place. There comes a time when John Dunbar decides to become one of them
