The forgotten Russian writer Sergey Milovsky (1861-1911), who served as a caretaker at a Spiritual School in a provincial town, was known at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries for his stories that candidly and honestly depicted the life of provincial Orthodox clergy. He published under various pseudonyms, but most often signed his works as S. Yeleonsky.
This collection includes his best stories: "Inexpressible Light", "Godfather Papa", "Suslino Celebration", and "In the Priest's Yard".
