A large game - this is what the politicians of past eras called the strategic confrontation of Russia and England in Central Asia in the XVIII -XIX centuries.
For Russia, the prologue of this game began with the project of Tsar Peter I on the expansion of our possessions and establishing direct contacts with an unknown semi -precious India. This was the time of the first campaigns of the Russian army to the east, the time of the first defeats and the first successes. It was then that Peter prosperly determined the entire future eastern vector of Russian politics. This was not at all the false “testament of Peter the Great”, which has been replicating the West for more than two centuries. This was a real testament of strengthening the eastern borders, mutually beneficial trade, and economic development of distant outskirts.
Fulfilling the will of Peter I, from the borders of the power to the unknown steppes, mountains, seas and deserts, generals and officers, soldiers and Cossacks moved to stand the way to the east
