In the summer of 1739, a wedding was played at the St. Petersburg court. The conclusion of a dynastic marriage between the Braunschweig Prince Anton Ulrich, the nephew of the Austrian Kaiser Charles VI, and Anna Leopoldovna, the niece of Empress Anna Ioannovna, was a large -scale event of international significance. A series of masqueradas balls, a meal for hundreds of open-air guests and impressive fireworks crowned Count A. I. Osterman to legitimize his plans to inherit the throne in Russia. The author of the scenario of how much the ambitious, such an indisputable enterprise was the Vice-Chancellor himself, and the Braunschweig diplomats-the “servants of the two masters”, (not) equally faithful to the Duke in Wolfenbuttel and his influential cartridge at the Russian court, were supposed to fulfill the “main thing”. The book published letters of the secret adviser of August Adolf von Kramma sent by the Braunschweig Duke Charles I to the decisive for the completion of a complex marriage project for months from May to August 1739.
