“Testament”, or “a number of Yaroslav the Wise,” is the part of Article 6562 (1053/54) in the oldest of the surviving Russian chronicles - the novels of the temporary years, containing the exposition of the division of cities between the sons of the Kyiv prince Yaroslav I Vladimirovich (after 978-1054) and the proclamation of the priority (“elderly”) of the eldest of them, Izyaslav. This chronicle story attracted the attention of most specialists who studied the history of Ancient Russia. The author offers a new approach to the study of the problem through the study of source -lubricants based on the fact that the text of the series is the design of chroniclers who formulated on its basis the ideal model of inter -intricate relations several decades after the death of Yaroslav
