The book is devoted to the study of Russian chronicles of the pre -Mongol period about state power. The study belongs to the pen of Mstislav Vyacheslavovich Shakhmatov (1888-1943)-professor of the Russian Law Faculty in Prague. In his works, an emigrant historian and jurist proved that the annals are not only a historical essay, but also a political treatise.
