The album "genius of the century" provides a unique opportunity to follow the traces of artistic discoveries of the 1900-1920s, stepping from the era of imperial Russia in the era of Soviet power. The freedom of creative search, an open dialogue with the West, the initiatives of Russian philanthropists in the late XIX - early twentieth centuries contributed to the rapid development of domestic art in all the variety of its directions. The book highlights in detail the currents of the beginning of the century as symbolism, "Russian impressionism", non -instruction, "Moscow Cezanism" and further - their evolution in the post -revolutionary era. According to these lines, a catalog structure with an additional section on sculpture is built. The cooperation of the Tretyakov Gallery and the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan made it possible to reunite on the pages of the album the works related in spirit and copyright: some for the first time
