The presented book concerns the history of political and dynastic relations of France and Russia in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance era. The beginning was laid back in the 4th century, when the Franks first saw the Federal Property Management Agency, and a little later the Kyiv prince and King of the Franks fought by the hand of the Byzantine princess. The marriage of Anna Yaroslavna interpreted the Capetings and Rurikovich in the middle of the 21st century, which was always remembered in France, but forgot in Russia.
The authors of the book, Vladimir Shishkin and Spark Schwartz, consider the causes and circumstances of the mutual interests of the two states, which began to clearly manifest themselves in the XIII century, despite the fact that the West and East were finally divided according to the religious and political principle. The book emphasizes, however, that the processes of political centralization and the origin of the absolute monarchy in both countries were largely synchronously, as well as the fact that Russia was already tightly included in a large European policy in the 15th century, increasingly attracting France"s attention.
The authors pay special attention to attempts to create the Military-Political Union of France and Russia and the organization of diplomatic and trade contacts in the 16th century through the personal relations of the monarchs of the House of Valois and the Rurikovich dynasty
