The book of the famous historian M.P. Pogodin has been reprinted for the first time since 1875. Based on a deep study of historical sources and rich documentary material, the author restores in detail the picture of childhood of the future Emperor Peter I and the events that took place in Russia at the end of the 17th century. The publication also included the work of M.P. Pogodin Studies about sources for the history of the Streltsky riots.
