The album is the first illustrated publication dedicated to the Russian sundress. The traditional sundress ensembles presented in it make it possible to get acquainted with the main types of sundresses, their purpose, ritual affiliation, social and age characteristics. The structure of the publication is based on a new concept: illustrative material is located in accordance with colors that are fundamental in national symbolism and which dominate the color of the Russian sundress. Most of the sundresses are published for the first time.
In some sections, information about the main stages of the manufacture of homespun material from which sundresses were sewn, about traditional scenes and other tissue decoration methods are shown.
