Pythagoras (VI century BC) --- not only the most popular scientist, but also the most mysterious person, a person-symbol and a fanta man, a philosopher and a prophet, the founder of deductive scientific knowledge --- mathematics and the founder of many mystical exercises, founder of the religious and ethical fraternity and the creator of the Scientific and Philosophical School, who truly became the Union of Truth, Good and Beauty.
In the book on handfuls of the surviving ancient evidence, the image of the great thinker is recreated, the author’s version of the scientist’s biography in the context of the ancient culture of the times of Pythagoras is built. The basic ideas of Pythagorean teachings in arithmetic, geometry, cosmology, music are presented, and the influence of these ideas on the emergence and development of European science from antiquity until the 20th century is discussed.
The book is addressed to youth, but it will be interesting to everyone who does not leave indifferently the great ancient culture, whose cradle stood the great Pythagoras
