In the anthology, a wide set of texts is presented, comprehensively showing the attitude of the Orthodox church authors to the ideology and practice of Russian nationalism in the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries. Particular attention is paid to the ratio of the universal and national, church view of the nation, nationalism and cosmopolitanism, the problem of the existence of national Orthodox churches as components of the Unified Christian Church, the desire of the Orthodox peoples for cultural and political isolation, and the permissibility for Orthodox Christians of nationalism.
