The obsession of demons is not only the plot form of classic horror, but also the quite common reality of the life of the Russian village of the 19th century. The monograph Christine Vorobets considers the phenomenon of clicks as a social and cultural phenomenon with a wide range of meanings that various groups of Russian society endowed with. The author explores the behavior of Klikush from different points of view in the range from folk Orthodox and secular rationalism to literary practices, especially important for Russian culture. K. Vorobets demonstrates that clicus is part of a kind of ritual drama, and to understand it, it is necessary to turn to the sociocultural context of the life of peasants in the Russian Empire of the 19th century.
