Moscow metropolitan police

The publication has been dedicated to the history of the Moscow police from the time of its occurrence in the 17th century and before the 1917 revolution. For the first time, on the basis of rare archival materials and published historical sources, it is described about the formation and development of the structure of the Moscow police, the functions and tasks, issues of staffing by personnel, living conditions, monetary content and awards were considered. Considerable attention is paid to the form of uniforms of the ranks of the Moscow police. Some data on the fire protection of Moscow, which was organizationally part of the city police, are also given.
