This edition is a register from notebooks for 1723-1796, in which information was entered about the ranks issued by the military collegium. The chosen chronological framework is determined on the one hand, on the one hand, the earliest in the collection of the Russian State Military Historical Archive (RGVIA) by the book of records of patents, on the other - the end of the reign of Empress Catherine II. In total, the books preserved over the indicated period contain a little less than 83,000 records of patents issued to the generals, headquarters and chief officers of all military troops and institutions of the Russian army, which were maintained by the Military Collegium, including irregular troops. The publication is addressed to employees of museums, archives, private collectors, professional researchers, genealogues and everyone who is interested in the history of Russia and its armed forces of the 18th - early 19th centuries.
