The traditional division of Russia into the capital and the province can be monitored in different contexts. Lyudmila Parts embeds narratives about the Russian province into a story about an attempt to re -reduce the post -Soviet identity based on nationalist ideas about locality and a small homeland.
The provincial myth leads the dreams of genuine "Russianness outside Moscow - to where the real others live, who have preserved genuine spirit and moral superiority both over the inhabitants of the center and the inhabitants of the conditional West. In the Parts study in a provincial round dance, regional magazines, the names of newspapers and shops, pop men and programs on state television, the candy pink series “Doyark from Khatsapetovka” and the gloomy narratives of Balabanov, the novels of M. Kharitonov and A. Ivanov to visibly demonstrate The ideological design of the "provincial" form of nationalist discourse
