On the pages of the book, the author traces the history of the Muslim community of Moscow from the moment of its founding before the beginning of the new millennium and evaluates the contribution made by Muslim ethnic groups to its development and formation as the capital of the Russian state.
In the life of the vast majority of modern world megacities, the Islamic component has received important sociocultural significance in recent years. Moscow, being initially a multinational city with ancient history, in this sense is no exception. The appeal to its Muslim past is emphasized by the peculiarity of modern Moscow as the largest city with the Muslim population not only in Russia, but also in Europe.
The author also pays attention to the participation of Muslims in the inter -religious dialogue, international relations and in the processes of state construction
