In 1935-1937, the secretary of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks and the People"s Commissar of the Interior Nikolai Yezhov worked intensively on the book From Fractionality to Open Counterrevolution.
The idea of preparing a theoretical manual about the stages of the fight against the opposition arose with Nikolai Yezhov in 1935, when he began to oversee the investigation of the murder of Sergei Kirov and other repressive campaigns of 1935-1936. Stalin regularly read the manuscript and brought minor edits into it. However, the book was never published. Firstly, the content, as the repression increased, was invariably obsolete and required constant refinement. Secondly, the author in 1938 first fell into disgrace, and then was declared an “enemy of the people” and shot.
85 years after writing, the legendary book was first published
