The monograph discusses discursive methods for constructing factory identity on the material of the memoirs of Uralmash workers collected by the Museum of the History of Uralmashzavod (Yekaterinburg) in the 1960-1980s. Particular attention is paid to the identification and description of significant identifications for the “Uralmashevts": ideological, professional, spatial and temporary. The monograph also contains an overview of the artistic and journalistic texts of the 1930s, which served as a "discursive factory" for the development of important meanings in the story of Uralmash and the Ural workers. Compositionally, the main part of the study is accompanied by previously not published autobiographical texts of the plant workers, which will allow the reader to independently evaluate rich information about production relations and speech specifics in late Soviet times.
The monograph is of interest to specialists of the humanities, researchers of autobiographical texts and all those interested in the history of the industrial Urals and the Soviet era
