Book S.F. Platonov "Essays on the History of Troubles in the Moscow State of the XVI-XVIIVV.", Faced by the first publication in 1899, is one of the most deep studies of Russian history of the beginning of the 17th century. The book first used rich documentary material collected in the historical literature of the XVIII and XIX centuries, and detailed coverage of the course of the political struggle was given. The introductory part contains a comprehensive analysis of the state of the Moscow state in the second half of the 16th century (Historical and geographical essay and analysis of the oprichnina) The apparatus of notes, which mainly gives bibliographic data on the documentation, is saved by the 1910 publication
