In the book of Doris Bakhmann-Medik, a complex configuration of modern culture sciences is considered, which begins to take shape from the second half of the twentieth century and continues to change its contours to this day. The author identifies seven paradigmatic shifts of research focus, or "cultural turns": interpretative, performative, reflective, post -slope, translation, spatial and iconic/iconic. The study describes in detail the context of the emergence, the main theoretical attitudes and the analytical categories of each of the "turns", as well as the influence that they have on the self -combination of individual disciplines and the development of interdisciplinary subject areas. Particular attention is paid to the conceptual relationships and intersections between the "turns themselves", as well as the prospects for their development, including in the light of new challenges of cultural studies - for example, from post -consumer thinking, or a “neurobiological turn”
