In early July 1900, the anti -stringed uprising of the Emoine, who raged in China, rolled to the border Annunciation: the shipping message on the Amur was blocked, and the city was shelling from the Chinese side. In an atmosphere of terrible panic and paralysis of the authorities, it was decided to relocate Chinese migrants who lived in Blagoveshchensk on the other side of the Amur. As a result of a forcibly carried out deportation, several thousand people were actually recessed in the Amur.
The book is devoted to the analysis of the causes and mechanisms of the pogrom, the reconstruction of the subsequent reaction of the authorities of all levels (from the police chief to the emperor), direct participants in the events, the pre -revolutionary public, as well as our contemporaries. The analysis of today"s discussions regarding events seemed completely erased from historical memory, can give extremely important material for understanding the state of historical memory and a sense of historical responsibility of modern Russians
