In this book, two rare studies of the mid -19th century on the history of ancient Russian culture are reprinted: “The heroes of the times of the Grand Duke Vladimir on Russian songs”, written by one of the leaders of the Slavophil movement Konstantin Sergeyevich Aksakov (1817-1860), and “features of folk South Russian history” by Nikolai Ivanovich Kostomarova (1817-1885) The application contains songs about Ilya Muromets and Dobryn Nikitich from the collection of Russian songs prepared by a member of the Slavophil circle Peter Vasilievich Kireevsky (1808-1856), which were used in published work as a subject of research
