In the monograph, the author explores one of the most relevant issues in our days - a role in the domestic history of Russian statehood, its evolution during revolutionary upheavals. The monograph raises the question of the responsibility of the ruling layers for the effectiveness and stability of the foundations of the state. The wide actual material shows the death of monarchical statehood traditional for Russia, the evolution of power and civilian institutions in the context of a liberal experiment and, finally, the restoration of a strong national state as a result of a powerful movement of the masses, which, as it was already in our history in the 17th century, in in the 17th century, in October 1917 allowed to prevent the death of the country. The author analyzes in detail the formation of the mobilization regime that arose in the wave of October events, showing both the miscalculations and the successes of the Bolsheviks in the desire to strengthen revolutionary power.
