Alexander Fedorovich Belousov (1946–2023) was an outstanding philologist who became the discoverer of several important themes in science. Starting his career as a researcher of Old Believer culture, he was one of the first to turn to the study of urban folklore of the 19th and early 20th centuries, and then initiated a whole new direction in folklore studies - the study of modern urban and children's folklore, from jokes and children's scary stories to sadistic verses. Another important area opened up by Belousov was the study of the phenomenon of the Russian province as a unique phenomenon. He was also one of the first to study the biography and works of Leonid Dobychin, writing a series of articles on his works and a detailed real commentary on the novel "The City of En". This collection includes selected works by Belousov on Russian folklore, Russian literature, and everyday culture, and the final section contains interviews with the scientist published in various newspapers and magazines over the years.
