A collection of interdisciplinary type is based on the materials of the international conference of the same name, organized by the Renaissance Culture Commission in October 2006
The articles of the collection discusses cultural ties between European countries in the Renaissance in various fields - education, science, art. The specifics of the contacts of that era is highlighted - from philanthropy and diverse forms of combining humanists to their correspondence and intensive book exchange as a means of social communication. The circle of countries covered by the theme of articles includes Italy, Germany, France, England, the Netherlands, Hungary, as well as Russia. Not only the nature of cultural ties in Renaissance Europe is analyzed, but also their role in the formation of European civilization of the New Age. The collection of articles is illustrated by the works of art masters of the XV - beginning of the XVII century.
