The defensive operation of the troops of the 3rd Ukrainian Front lasted only 10 days - from March 6 to 15, 1945. The Balaton operation became the last defensive operation of the Soviet troops, carried out at the final stage of the Great Patriotic War and the forces of the Red Army with honor withstood this difficult test. In order to reflect the blow of several hundred medium and heavy German tanks, a complex anti -tank defense system was built, which, although not without difficulties, has blooded down the German attacking group and allowed our troops to again deploy the offensive in the Vienna direction, and then triumphantly end the war. The final head of the book is devoted to the analysis of the Hungarian armed forces - Honvedesh in fateful years of the Second World War for the Magyars. The Hungarian state was the last ally of the Third Reich on the European continent and the battle by Lake Balaton took place on its territory
