Recovery after a sprain is not how I planned to spend my summer vacation. But I have to admit that it's not all that bad, as my wonderful girlfriend Bailey is taking care of me, having just graduated from medical college. We spent a week at my family's beach house. We swam, barbecued, entertained my little cousins, and slept in adjacent rooms. I watched Bailey bond with my mom, sisters, and slightly crazy but sweet grandmother. I enjoyed Bailey taking care of me for a week - it means something, as I constantly need to apply ice packs to my injured ligaments and bandage my sore muscles. For the first time in a long while, being next to her, I realized that the walls I had built had come down. Bailey is fun and kind, but... she's not looking for a serious relationship. But I definitely don't plan on being "just the fun guy who's always around"...
