The monograph discusses theoretical issues of the reception of literary criticism, on the material of the vast circle of sources, the specifics of the interpretation of the key figures of Russian criticism are examined in the late XIX - beginning of the 20th century, the role of the Silver Age in the minds of the Pantheon "criticism is clarified. The problem of confrontation between writers and critics that has become acute at the beginning of the twentieth century is covered in detail.
