The work presents the results of a comprehensive comparative legal study of the provisions defining the essence of modern criminal procedure, the legal status of key subjects of criminal procedural activity, the most important elements of evidence law, individual legal institutions and mechanisms that enhance the efficiency of criminal proceedings in Russia and European countries. A separate chapter is dedicated to the regulation in national legislations of such relevant directions of international cooperation in the criminal law sphere as extradition and consular legal assistance. The legislation is provided as of March 28, 2023.
