Crimean Spring is a unique event in the history of mankind. The peninsula was not annexed by Russia, there was no state coup or uprising there. Simply 95 percent of its population expressed their desire for reunification with their historical Homeland. Even the absolute majority of officials from the ruling "Party of Regions" in Crimea at that time chose to become members of the "United Russia" party. 80 percent of the officers stationed in Crimea by the Security Service of Ukraine also swore allegiance to the Russian Federation.
