The fourth of the Tom "Complete Assembly of the Creatures of the Holy Fathers of the Church and Church Writers" is dedicated to the theological heritage of St. Vasily of the Great, Archbishop of Caesare Cappadocyaskaya (330-379), and his contemporary and associates of St. Saint Amphilochia, Bishop Iconian (340-394).
The church honored the St. Vasily of the Honorary Naming "Great", among other things, for its special merits in the development of Christian theology and church legend. Holy Vasily made a huge contribution to the formation of Eastern Christian monasses and in general - to the maintenance of Orthodox spiritual life, including his ascetic creations, which most often represent the meeting of the rules regulating the inner and external monastic life.
This volume contains the creations of moral and ascetic, including the treatise on baptism and writing the saint, first published in Russian. Such a complete collection of letters of St. Vasily (only 368) in Russia is published for the first time: here, except for the revolution published before the revolution (336), transfers of letters addressed to St. Vasily by other persons are placed, as well as those who are considered dubious and unnecessary. In his epistolary heritage, the Holy Father acts not only as an outstanding Orthodox theologian, a fighter against heresy, the wise archpastor, a subtle church diplomat, the legislator in the field of canonical law, a spiritual leader, but also as an educated person of his time, an outstanding and versatile person.
The application is placed the most complete in Russian translation of the creation of the works of Saint Amphilochia Iconian with the introductory article Iguman Vasyan (Zmeeva), as well as a number of Scientific andological works on the heritage of St. Vasily Great: S. M. Zarina, Archbishop Vasily (Krivoshein) , T. Nalimova and P. Smirnova.
The publication is preceded by the preface of the Metropolitan of Tashkent and Central Asian Vladimir. The works of the works of St. Vasily are accompanied by theological, church-historical and texture comments. At the end of the book, a signpost of a quote from the Holy Scriptures is placed, as well as an alphabetic pointer to both the volumes of the creations of St. Basil. The editors hoped that this publication would attract the attention of teachers and students of spiritual educational institutions and simply a thoughtful Orthodox reader who was not indifferent to the patristic heritage and its inalienable component - theology of Cappadocian fathers, St. Vasily of the Great and St. Saint Amphilochia Iconian
