The Russian viewer traditionally refers with great attention to the art of the countries of the Far East, and especially to the China, rich in his traditions.
Without a doubt, a lot of new and interesting things can be gleaned on a chamber, but deep in meaning and elegant exhibition "Guardians of the Time", the catalog of which is this book. The book presents the sculptural work of Chinese masters made of ceramics. This is traditional plastic dating back to the reign of the Han, Tan and Min dynasty in China
(II century BC - XVII century AD) According to the then Chinese ideas, time is inextricably linked with space, and together they make up a "canvas" of chronology and the universe as a whole, influencing human life. The system of Chinese chronology was gradually formed - a sixty -year -old cycle associated with twelve zoomorphic signs (year of mouse, bull, tiger, hare, etc) and five elements.
At the exhibition are figures of symbols of the Chinese twelve -year -old lunar calendar. A special place is designated by two animals - a dog and a pig, personifying 2018 and 2019, respectively. In traditional China, they were revered by symbols of prosperity, tranquility and prosperity.
The work is captivated by the masterful ownership of the technique of forming and modeling, color painting and polychrome glaze, and at the same time they reflect the lively interest of Chinese artists in the world around us, their observation and the ability to notice details that are fascinating the modern viewer with their acuteness and expressiveness.
