This book is a leadership for novice needlewomen, and a source of ideas and inspiration for experienced craftswomen, and also an exciting history of healing, overcoming and gaining oneself.
After the decree of Sanae, Isis plunged into the work. She held a responsible post in a large company and led the creation of new products. Every day, the work took her more and more time and effort, she lived in constant stress, practically did not rest and began to burn out after a few years. Her health has worsened (doctors diagnosed a serious autoimmune disease - Bazedov"s disease), she gained 10 kg, relations with loved ones have deteriorated, and the quality of work decreased.
However, Sanae herself practically did not notice the sad changes that had happened to her, until one day she was informed that she was fired. For her, the workaholic and perfectionist to the bone brain, the news of dismissal was a real blow. However, after time, she will understand that this is the best that could happen to her.
By nature, she is primarily a caring mother and wife, not a careerist, and dismissal allowed her to realize this and re -find herself. She finally had the opportunity to take a break from an endless corporate race and pay attention to herself and her relatives, the relationship with which she was noticeably shaken. She began to take care of her health: she set up sleep and food, included physical activity in a daily schedule, rested and read.
And once, analyzing things, she stumbled upon an old sewing machine and remembered her long -forgotten hobby. Sanae felt a desire to sew again: she liked the touch of the process and the creative component, and she set a goal - to create handmade wardrobe for her nine -year -old daughter. Accessories and clothing for adults were soon added to children"s dresses - sewing turned out to be incredibly exciting, the results pleased the eye, and the disease retreated.
In the book of Sanaa, it presents 20 simple copyright projects, each of which has a special meaning for it. They are distributed by the seasons: summer has become for Sanaa, autumn - creativity, winter - relationships, spring - freedom. Each project was her little step towards healing. Experiences and search for oneself, attempts to find harmony influenced her creative vision and were reflected in her works.
Individual style is completed by some traditional Japanese techniques: Origami and Sashiko (Japanese embroidery) Sanaae projects attract the look, while performing them is not at all difficult and pleasant: even the novice dressmaker will cope perfectly, especially since in addition to instructions in the book, the necessary information about techniques and tools for sewing is also given.
From the author
The book is not like an ordinary guide by sewing. This is an instructive story, and a selection of simple projects with instructions, and an invitation to a meaningful life, in which there is no place for the pursuit of the ideal. But first of all, this is the personal experience of an unexpected transformation.
To begin with, I will say: if I learned to sew, then you will learn.
I can’t promise that you will immediately achieve impressive results or comprehend all the wisdom of sewing thanks to this book. I have been sewing for several years and still I don’t remember the project that would not have crept in at least one mistake. Move in small steps, master one specific action at the same time and do not throw what you started halfway - and soon you will be surprised to find how your skill has increased and what wonderful things you have.
Beginners and those who want to return to this lesson after a long break will easily cope with the projects from the book. Is there any skills at all or are they slightly rusted-in any case, you just need to tune in, prepare everything you need and learn something. But by and large, there are enough bit of inspiration, a minimum set of tools and a desire to try.
For whom this book
For everyone who is interested in sewing: wants to learn how to sew or get new ideas.
For those who, as the author, ended up on a psychological and emotional day and want to find inner harmony, including creativity (handmade) in everyday life
