In the first part, the author tells how to choose the right threads, needles and fabric, where to get ideas for plots and how to transfer the drawing to the Canvas. How to make a sketch and how to cut a template? How to paint the fabric? In which direction to make stitches? How to choose a color scheme and background so that the embroidery will play?
The second part of the book is the Gallery of Chloe"s works. You will see every project - from the plan to the end, which will undoubtedly inspire you to create your own miniatures. Inspired by the most popular Chloe themes: foxes, deer, rabbits, hares, badgers and plants. The author clearly explains the various nuances: how young animals differ from adults, how to portray a muzzle and make an ornament. She also gives advice on the design of finished work.
A colorful guide is suitable for craftswomen who want to master a new technique for themselves. But even if you have no experience at all, do not be afraid to try: study, use the learned in practice - and you will master any skills!
From the author
I was going to become an artist: I studied the illustration at the University of West England in Bristol and worked mainly with pencils and oil paints. In the last year of training, I discovered the types of art associated with textiles, and after watching Michel Gondri"s film "Science of Sleep", I began to experiment with fabrics.
After many samples and errors, I found my "needle -painting" technique with which I dream of erase the border between embroidery and painting.
Nature always meant a lot for me and my work. I was born in Bakinghamshire, lived in Oxfordshire for several years, and then moved to the north, to Yorkshire. Here I finally combined the convenience of urban residence with proximity to nature - an inexhaustible source of all my plots. For hours I study, draw and embroider animals - the inhabitants of British forests and parks. I hope I at least partially manage to convey their magical charm.
