The Aquagemm creative association presents the second book of the research and book publishing project "Old Yekaterinburg". The idea, concept and structure of the project belongs to the historical and gemological society Lithica. The book is dedicated to two anniversaries: the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg and the 280th anniversary of Yekaterinburg, whose fate is inextricably linked with the history of the city on the Neva. The materials of this book - a unique collection of stone carving on the Yekaterinburg work of past centuries is now stored in the State Hermitage. The collection includes articles: Yu.O. Kagan "Class of Carved Art", V.B. Semenova "Union Stone", A.I. Akimova "two Odysseans of the Yekaterinburg Kame". The book was released under the general editorship of V.B. Semenova. The idea of the creators of the book to introduce the reader to a little -known, but vivid, original page in the history of Russian stone -real business, "Camenian art", which was cultivated at the former Imperial Yekaterinburg Crowne Factory. It began in 1781 with the search and production in the Urals of layered stone rocks suitable for carving Kamya. As an independent industry, production originated in the late 1780s.
