It was opened in early 2019 by Artem Poruk, Igor Zernov and Nikolai Kiselev. Now there are already two establishments in Russia: in St. Petersburg and in Kazan. Kantina is a typical Mexican institution like a dining room with a bar, where men (entrance to women were prohibited) came to play board games, chat, watch TV. This is a whole social phenomenon.
