This book has grown from a special course of lectures on dialectical logic, read by the author, the Soviet philosopher M.M. Rosenthal, at the Academy of Social Sciences. The purpose of the book can be reduced to three moments: 1) to find out the difference between the dialectical and formal logic, to show that the latter does not exhaust the tasks of the science of logic, that only dialectical logic can be the general logical basis of all human knowledge, 2) outline the circle of basic issues, The objects of a study of dialectical logic, 3) to outline the approach to these issues, their solution, guided by what gives the works of the classics of Marxism-Leninism in the field of dialectical logic, also attracting the data of modern science and practice.
