Wine has been known to humanity since ancient times. Viticulture and winemaking are inextricably linked with the history of peoples, empires and civilizations. We can say that the history of winemaking directly reflects the history of human culture. This book represents the first attempt to cover the history of wine terrorists (landscape and climatic settings that determine the main characteristics of wines) in connection with their geological structure and development. The book describes a wide range of wine terrorists from the famous Spanish Priorat with exotic black shales to volcanic Hungarian toki and unique high -mountain terraists of Bolivian Andes. Much attention is paid to the history of winemaking in certain regions and covered the role of historical personalities, as well as military and religious organizations (such as monastic orders) in the development of new wine -making provinces. The book is intended for readers who are interested in the origin of the aromatic and taste characteristics of famous and little -known wines, the political and cultural history of world winemaking, as well as the geological evolution of our indomitable planet
