The textbook covers the statistical justification of the basic concepts and field functions of continuum mechanics (CM), provides theories of deformations, stresses, deformation and loading processes in the vicinity of a body point, conservation laws and functional representations of thermodynamic functions, theory of constitutive relations and equations of state, closed systems of CM equations, and general formulations of boundary value problems. General transformations of quasi-linear CM equations are given, simplifying the analysis and finding their solutions. The theory of classical media, media with complex physical properties, the action of the electromagnetic field, as well as the theory of dimensionality and similarity with examples of revision analysis of CM equations are detailed.
