This volume continues the series of anthologies presenting to a wide readership works written in the languages of the Commonwealth countries after 1991.
Over thirty years of independence, literary art continued to develop in each of the countries, new authors emerged, about whom not enough is known to those reading in Russian. The publication of the series fills a regrettable humanitarian gap, allows for a comprehensive and vivid picture of the contemporary state of the literatures of the CIS countries (all current and former members) and provides an overview of the most relevant themes and issues raised by authors today.
The anthology includes artistic translations into Russian of works by children's writers from eleven countries, overview essays on the state of contemporary children's literature, and brief biographical notes about the authors.
The book is addressed to the widest circle of readers who speak Russian.
