The training manual considers the three -hundred -year history of domestic choreographic education. The main stages of development of education in the field of dance are distinguished, and a characteristic of external and internal factors of its historical variability is given. In the context of the history of artistic culture of Russia, five models of professional choreographic education were reconstructed. The contribution of outstanding choreographers and teachers-choreographers was determined to the formation of a domestic school of classical and folk dance.
