The tasks that are performed from the command line of the Linux operating system are considered. It is explained how to get into the command line, work in the console, configure the system using programs that have only a text interface. The features of the Linux file system, the most useful commands for working with text, network and Internet, as well as system administrator commands are described. Particular attention is paid to writing scenarios for automation of routine tasks in the languages of the Bash and TCSH command membranes.
