The book presents a detailed description of distributed and parallel databases, taking into account the latest technologies. The authors affect topics such as the design of distributed and parallel databases, distributed data control, distributed processing of requests and transactions, and database integration. A separate chapter is devoted to the processing of big data (in particular, distributed storage systems, streaming data, the Mapreduce and Spark, analysis of graphs and lake data) are discussed. Web-data processing is considered with an accent for RDF technology, which has become widespread.
At the end of chapters 2–12, exercises are given to fix theoretical material. On the accompanying site, readers will find information about the basics of relational databases, request processing, transaction management and computer networks. In addition, the site posts all the drawings for the book, slides and solutions of exercises (only for teachers)
The publication can be used as a textbook for students and undergraduates studying computer science and related disciplines, as well as interest everyone who is engaged in computer sciences
