Pleshcheev Alexander Alekseevich (1858-1944) - journalist, playwright, theater critic, ballet historian. He acted as a dramatic actor on the scenes of the Maly Theater (Moscow) and the Alexandrinsky Theater (St. Petersburg) He collaborated with St. Petersburg and Moscow periodicals ("St. Petersburg Leaf", "Exchange Vedomosti", "Capital and Manor", "Moscow Leaf , etc), in 1884-1885. Edited the magazine "Theater Mir , in 1904-1905. - "The Petersburg Diary of Theaterman." A.A. Pleshcheev is the author of about 30 plays that were staged in many theaters. In 1919, Pleshcheev emigrated abroad. The book "Our Ballet" is the first experience of writing the history of ballet in Russia from the 17th to the end of the XIX century.
