Few books management books can be called as significant as a "mythical man-month." Mixing examples from real development of software, opinions and reflection creates a bright picture of the management of complex projects. These essays are based on the fifty -year experience of Brooks by the project manager in IBM System/360, and then in OS/360. The first edition of the book was published 45 years ago, the second 25 years ago. New methodologies arise, new programming languages appear, the number of processors is growing, but this book continues to be relevant. Why? After half a century, we continue to repeat the mistakes described by Brooks. Some topics raised in the book seem outdated, but this is only visibility. The fundamental problems standing behind them are still relevant in our time.
